Ident Initial Ideas
In the initial idea stage of the process we thought about the ideas for the three concepts that we had come up with in the initial brain storm. The use of round foods would be fairly straight forward in the way it would work as it would just consist of rolling foods. We felt that this was to vague as a concept though as it would be difficult to show any consistency throughout the designing. The second concept that we considered was fast foods. We liked the idea of having some kind of sauce bottle having from above and swinging around in a circle in order to create the branding logo simply by the motion. This would happen as a chain reaction after different items of fast food being moved around, (a visual representation of this is drawn out in the box in Figure 1). However, we all agreed that the third concept of tea time had a lot more depth compared to the other two concepts.
Emma roughly sketched out some of the ideas we had thought about for concept three in order for to be able to visualise the ideas and how we could go about bringing them to life. The ideas included:
1. Domino effect using biscuits in order to create the spiral from the branding at the end
2. Domino effect using biscuits leading to biscuit falling into a teacup which has the channel's logo on
3. A biscuit pyramid made from the biscuits which can be knocked over to start another chain reaction
4. A tower of biscuits with one balanced on top which when knocked would land on a seesaw (made from biscuits) in order to lead onto another chain reaction
5. Biscuit attached to string being dropped into cup of tea which would dissolve causing weight on other side of the strong to drop and start the sequence
We had the idea of having one main feature that starts the chain reaction and then two or three other mechanisms which would then lead into the final biscuit spiral of the logo.
