After conducting all the research the initial designs for the fundraising/awareness campaign began to be developed. The beginning process was taking the Lupus UK logo of the butterfly and using it to create a colour palette that worked together and was complementary of each other. When choosing a typeface it was important for it to be a similar style to the one used by Lupus UK as I was using the branding. The chosen typeface was Futura PT Cond. The chosen fundraising materials are stickers and bookmarks. Stickers can be placed on people and therefore seen by others and a bookmark is a simple object that is used by a lot of people. When developing the concept for the campaign the idea for a hashtag seemed appropriate. By creating the hashtag #LeapforLupus, it could be a pop up campaign that can be placed on stools at events but also transferred to a social media campaign meaning that it will be able to reach a wider audience. This would also educate the younger generation on what Lupus is spreading awareness of the illness and the people that suffer.
The initial designs for the stickers can be seen above. The designs use illustrations of a plane and a person with a parachute. They also have a set of stickers with the official Lupus UK logo on and a set of stickers with the hashtag.
The designs for the bookmark can be seen above. Initially the designs used the colour blue to resemble the sky however it seemed it would be a better aesthetic for all of the bookmark to be the purple of Lupus UK. Initially this was quite hard as the logo already used 4 different shades of purple but it was possible using the colour palette created.
The initial designs for the poster used the same design elements as the bookmark and stickers. To add more detail there were clouds added to the illustrations and the variation and combinations of colours was experimented with.
