Wayfinding Map Development
After talking to the rest of the group in the initial crit I started to experiment with the ideas they had suggested in how to create my Cluedo game board. I used the silhouette pictograms that I had created in the place on the board and experimented with some of the original features on the board. Figure 1 shows the first design that I created. I used the basic layout of the Cluedo board game and a map of leeds. I placed the silhouette buildings on the board in the closest place on the map to where the buildings are.

I then tried different variations using these features so that I had plenty of designs to show in my crit as can be seen in Figure 2. The second variation involved using white silhouettes on a black background instead to see how that looked and the third was the same but all of the buildings were facing outwards as that way they would be the right way up to players all around the board. For the fourth design I used the section of the map of leeds where the buildings are situated inside the silhouette of the corresponding building. I thought this was a slightly more interesting way to incorporate the map of Leeds into my design. Finally I experimented with added the black letter arrow pictograms to the centre of the board pointing in the correct direction of the building. Although in theory this idea had potential I personally felt that the board became overcrowded when I added in the arrows.
