OUGD603 - Durex Development

Development

After the crit we developed the posters by making the tagline slightly bigger as suggested by our peers. We began by trying the tagline to the left hand side of the logo (Figures 1 and 2), however we felt that this made the whole layout look quite unbalanced so decided it was best to keep it all centre aligned. We therefore went back to the original design but just made the tagline larger (Figures 3 and 4). This worked better but due to the tagline being larger than the logo now it still looked slightly unbalanced. We experimented with using one of the different style photographs from the tea photoshoot as the background is much darker hence the text stands out much more clearer (Figure 5). However, when we asked for our peer's opinions, they all stated that although this makes the text much clearer, this image doesn't fit the style of the other images used in the poster series. For this reason we will continue to use the teabag image. We also asked for some advice in terms of what they now thought about the tagline being slightly bigger. They all suggested that we move the tagline up slightly in order to even out the layout. This made a much more successful design.
