OUGD504 - Pre-submission Briefing

Presubmission Briefing:

1. Outcomes - Development needs to demonstrate an awareness of information, content included, how it influenced design decisions/changed altered direction. Media - Publications, paperback, hardback etc… reasoning for what has been done. Screen based - web, apps? etc… what is it communicating and what are the relevant decisions. format - how its delivered, distributed. context - audience, what it relates to, whose viewing it, whats informed the decisions…
2. Evaluating the resources used in process of making, thinking about how it will be made in reality. screen based - processes and technology that will be used to create the website, XD - who uses it? all about evaluating how and what has been done/used.
3. Extent of research gone through to develop work. what have I found out, what research have I done, what have i had to learn, what have i had to research to justify why its needed. research thats had to be done to make the final outcome. practical research for software skills. needs to still be critical, how it relates now and for the future.
4. Do the work! use appropriate technologies, media… appropriate = argue its the right process to have used…
5. Justify design decisions, why have I gone in this direction? work needs to look and be good, works! easy to use, navigate, look at! 
6. Design boards and blog, documentation is important!

5-6 design boards - documenting and summarising progress. Need to be certain that whats being submitted in design boards in a concise representation of my work.

Design for Screen:

5-6 Design Boards - visual presentation of my design. Final board need to be a visual representation of your design.

Studio Practice Blog - including moving visual presentations of your design (animated presentations). XD can record how the website will work.

All posts need a visible date and time. 

Ensure everything is labelled correctly. Nothing can be changed after submission. 

Submission Details:

Blog = saved as a PDF.

Physical work needs to be in a A3 clear folder.

Include module submission label, name, student number, etc.

Penalties: 24 hours = 10% penalty

after 24 hours = 0% fail.
