The illustrations are being done by Jack Symons who is a second year on the illustration course. These are the first drawing that he has showed me to see if I like the style of the drawings. I really like the way that he has simplistically managed to accent the most important aspect of each character. I think that this helps to make it obvious what each person is about and also doesn't overcomplicate the drawings.
He also experimented with capturing the essence of each of the characters through simple brush strokes. I think that this is an interesting technique that could be used. I am going to discuss the different drawings with my partner and see which one she thinks would suite the style of the book that she is designing most accurately.
