The National History Museum is based in Kensington and Chelsea, London, SW7, United Kingdom. It is the home to a vast range of exhibits with different history to see. The age of the museum givees many of the collection great historical and scientific value. The museum is particularly famous for its dinosaur skeletons and ornate architecture exhibitions. The museum does not change any entry fee due to it being an exempt charity and non-departmental public body that is sponsored by the Department for culture, Media and Sport.
I am personally interested in the dinosaur exhibitions which I still remember visiting since I was very small. This is why I have decided that I want to do a poster for the dinosaurs which are famous world wide.
Exhibition:
'See the skull of a Triceratops and wander among fossils in the Dinosaurs gallery'
The exhibition allows people to explore the different time periods that the dinosaurs lived and learn the difference between the facts and the myths.
Info taken from the National History Museum Website:
Star specimens and exhibits include:
- The first fossil ever found from a Tyrannosaurus rex, one of the largest carnivores ever to have walked the Earth
- An Iguanodon, one of the first species ever described as a dinosaur. Iguanodon teeth were first found by accident in southeast England in 1822 and they inspired the theory that giant reptiles used to live on Earth.
- The skull of a plant-eating Triceratops
- One of the largest meat-eaters ever unearthed in Europe, the Baryonyx
- An Oviraptor egg, a Daspletosaurus tooth and a Euoplocephalus tail club
