Final Design - Screen Print

Final Design:

Figure 1

Figure 2

The final designs for my screen print can be seen in Figures 1 and 2. I experimented with the design in two different formats. The first experiment seen in Figure 1 is a combination of two different layers of paper. This was the idea that I had originally envisioned when designing the screen print. I used the layer of green tissue paper over the top of the writing which I had screen printed on the background in order to add an extra dimension to the design. I used black for the words that were more insignificant because I did not need them to stand out and then a blue for the words I wanted to be recognised as a line from one of Adam Bojelians poems. I then added the tissue paper layer in Bojelians favourite colour with the blinks on because this is the part that is more personal to him. As the blinks represent him picking the words I had decided that it would be interesting to have them printed onto a colour of his choice.

As another experiment with my final design I did a couple of prints with the eyelashes printed in a different colour rather than on an extra layer as seen in Figure 2. I wanted to stick with the use of the colour green as it is the most representative colour of Adam Bojelian so did an extra layer on top of the writing printing in green. I think that this worked well and did look aesthetically pleasing however I decided to use the print which I had originally planned as it had more depth to the design and made the print more interesting by the use of an extra layer. This was also the design that had been favourited by my peers in the final crit due to the use of the green tissue paper over the main print.
