Penguin Book Cover - Thumbnails

Thumbnails:

1. The first drawing is a fence that is representative of the garden of the house which Dick and Perry went to and ended up killing the family.
2. The cold and the blood are linked because the 'L' links to the 'O' in blood so that it looks like a noose which is how the killers were executed.
3. One of the 'O's of the blood symbolises the noose which the killers were executed by.
4. The typography of the title is formed in the shape of the noose that the killers were executed by.
5. This design has a bird in the corner of the design because it represents the bird that perry used to dream about as a young boy that would come and take him away from all that is bad.
6. This is a typographic layout which I tried.
7. The drawing of the person with the hands across their face is representative of Truman and the killers who have all suffered with mental illness.
8. The trail of the gun bullet which the killers used to murder the family makes one of the 'O' of the word blood.
9. This drawing shows the segregation and the isolation that Perry felt as a child from his family.
10. This is another variation of Perrys family as a child.
11. The line from the 'O' and cold to the 'O' in blood represents the two nooses used to execute both killers and the bird in the corner is the bird from Perrys childhood dream coming to take him away from the bad situation.
12. This is the house of the family with blood dripping onto it from the top of the page to represent the murder that had happened there.

13. This is another typographic arrangement. I would play around with the colour scheme to make the design more interesting.
14. The 'O's in the word blood are made into people to represent the two killers that are in the story. I did this from the word blood to represent the blood that is on their hands.
15. The words of the title are placed inside the noose that executed the killers.
16. This is the back of a person, intended to look like they are suffering with depression. This is to represent the fact that Truman Capote and the two killers had all suffered with mental illness.
17. The bird that Perry used to dream of as a child that took him away from all that is bad is the focal point of this design.
18. This cover has the bars of the prison sells which the killers were locked away in once they had been caught.
19. This design shows the killers approaching the house of the family that they ended up murdering.
20. This design shows imagery of one of the killers behind the bars of their prison sell.
21. The blood of the family is dripping off of the word blood in the title of the book.
22. The two 'O's in the word blood in this cover are replaced by bullet holes to represent the way in which the killers murdered the family.
23. This cover is a drawing of Perry as a child dreaming of the bird that would take him away from all that was bad in the world.
24. This drawing is a picture of Perry as a child with wings. This is representative of him being taken away by the bird to a better place.

25. This cover focuses on the gun that was used to kill the family with the word blood written inside the barrel of the gun.
26. The drawing in this design represents half of each killers face lined up next to each other.
27. This is the chalk outline of one of the victims of the murder, I also drew police tape around it to emphasise the crime which has taken place.
28. The design shows the road which the killers used to flee the crime scene.
29. This demonstrates the wrong path which the criminals chose to take, leading them to be killers rather than thieves.
30. The design on this cover is representative of the father of the family trying to shelter his children from the path of the killers and the horror that was about to take place.
