OUGD503 - Module Evaluation
I have enjoyed that this module has allowed me to gain experience collaboration with a lot of different people. It has given me a wider understanding of what it is like to work with people in the real world and also what it is like to collaborate with other creatives. I found this module hard because there was a lot to do all at once and it meant that you really had to organise your time to make sure that everything was getting enough attention payed to it. I think this however will help me to be a better designer in the long run as it has given me skills that I didn't necessarily possess before now.
OUGD503 - Dogs Trust Evaluation
Evaluation:
The final outcome of the app was much better than expected. Adobe XD is a unfamiliar programme but after much trial and error the app was developed to a good standard. It successfully responds to the brief as it is a way in which rescue dogs become more accessible to look at in the modern world. The designs for the app show consistency and work with the branding of Dogs Trust which was very important when creating these designs. The colour scheme, typography and use of the logo are all requirements that have been met in the design of both the app and the campaign posters. The poster designs also respond to the brief as they once again are another way of advertising these dogs by advertising the app. For more development it would be interesting to edit the prototype on Premier Pro to give an even more detailed and professional understanding of the app and how it would work to go alongside the XD video and the mock ups that have been created.
OUGD503 - Dogs Trust Brief Poster Research
Poster Research
Looking into already existing poster campaigns was another important part of the research. This is because it was important to see how Dogs Trust have advertised things in the past so that the advertising of the app could follow a similar pattern. They use bright and vibrant colours and don’t put too much writing on the poster. There is also a lot of use of imagery to really catch someone’s attention.
OUGD503 - Dogs Trust Brief Final Posters/Mock Ups
The final posters were mocked up to give a clear idea of how the campaign will look. These can be seen below. To give a better idea of how the design would look when on the screen of a phone, Adobe Photoshop was used to create some mock-up designs to give an even better example of how the app would look.
OUGD503 - Dogs Trust Brief Poster Design Development
Poster design development:
It became clear that it was important to look at advertising the app so that people would be aware of its purpose and understand why it would be a good thing for them to use. After looking into existing poster campaigns as part of the research it was easy to develop posters that were clear but informative. The chosen media for the designs was photography. This was consistent with the photographs that had been used for the app and also allowed for a more connection with the imagery as it shows the bond between a person and their dog. This therefore is very representative of the app as it projects the message that you are gaining a friend for life. The posters were developed in both black and white and in colour. After discussions with peers and careful consideration, the coloured images were the ones chosen for the campaign. This is because they displayed the most happiness and life due to the use of colour. It seemed to be stripped away a bit in the black and white images.
OUGD503 - Dogs Trust Brief Photo Shoot for Posters
The chosen media for the poster designs was the use of photography. These are the images which I took of a friend and his dog. They show the love and friendship that is present within their relationship which is representative of what the app is all about.

Final Designs
This was the final design of the app once it had all been transferred into XD for the prototype to be produced.
OUGD503 - Dogs Trust Brief XD Production
App Production
The app was produced using Adobe XD. Once the designs were finished on Adobe Illustrator, the artboards could be exported and then placed into XD. This allowed the design to be pulled together to make a working prototype that showed how the app will work. The links were made across the whole of the design so that on each page of the app there were working links to take you to the next page.
OUGD503 - Collaboration Evaluation
Evaluation:
The outcomes that have been created for the dance show are very successful. They all show consistency due to keeping the same use of colour and branding for all elements that were created. This brief involved a lot of collaborations which was hard at times because it can be very difficult to keep good organisation when using a lot of different people but the collaborations all turned out to be successful and very helpful in order for the final deliverables to be created.
The production of the printed visuals went very smoothly and meant that the outcomes that were created looked very professional. They were all also consistent with the digital media so that when promoting the dance show in summer all of these elements would come together and people will have all of the information that they needed in different formats.
This brief was a lot of fun and the opportunity to collaborate with many different people allowed for a lot of growth and knowledge to be gained as a designer.

OUGD503 - Dogs Trust Brief Photos for App
In order to create the app on XD I had to export all of the artboard designs from Illustrator. These are all of the final designs that I exported to put into Adobe XD to design the app and prototype.
