Example Answers:
- 'Middle class, woman, happy, feminine costumes, skirts, dresses.'
- 'Classical dancers are usually from families where dance is considered a plus in status (like playing classical instruments, both require expensive and extensive learning). because it involves complex body language it is hard to pick up later in life so a ballet dancer usually needs to have been taught from a young age hence the stigma. although I feel there is a stereotype, like all stereotypes I don't believe it is accurate. a ballet dancer needs to be dedicated to his craft but that does not mean they are meticulous and 'ocd' in real life.'
- 'I think of ballet dancers as predominantly female. I imagine them to be straight-laced, sensible, and look quite tailored. They’re petite, and maybe a bit snobby too.'
- 'An elegant, disciplined performer who is strong and supple. The dancer will be comfortable following rules and conforming with convention. They will have a considered approach to life and will be emotionally intelligent. Their clothing style will be elegant and their background is less likely to be from deprived, poor families but most likely to be from financially stable or wealthy families.'
- 'Somebody with great poise, a good upbringing, elegant, well-spoken and very precise.'
Example Answers:
- 'I think of street dancers as predominantly male. I imagine them to be hip and cool, and their sense of style is distressed.'
- 'Street dance is a more approachable style of dancing, precision/replication is not as much as stake so that gives the dancer the possibility to explore and create new movements that they can express through their bodies. the crucial point of this style is to coordinate body movement to rhythm and melody, historically hand in hand with hip-hop/rap. although it might've started in a niche it is open to anyone with a good body expression!'
- 'Less expensive, you can dance it anything and therefore not middle class, easier to participate as opposed to ballet dancing, it’s more easy going and chilled. Id say it takes a lot of commitment too but isn’t as streaky as ballet it’s doesn't hold old fashioned Attitude its more appropriate with the times.'
- 'Most likely middle class/working class, strict/square personality, out going, serious, confident, trendy clothing, exited, energetic.'
- 'Less conventional upbringing, influenced by a wider range of people, clothing is everyday, strong personality, independent, self reliant, determined.'
