Below are three pages of contact sheets showing the images that we gained from the photo shoot. The images all came out quite dark and grainy but we had anticipated this as we had used the projector and been shooting in the dark. There were a limited amount of photos that turned out as we had hoped but the ones that did once edited gave an aesthetic that we had hoped for. However we did find that the framing of the photographs wasn't exactly what we were hoping for but this was partly due to the photographers finding it hard to fit the full body of the dancers in without the backdrop being in shot.
We found this shoot to be a learning curve when working with other creatives in a collaborative practice. We need to make sure we're uploading the images as we go so that we can see what the images look like on a larger screen and where we need changes to be made to the images in terms of the framing, camera settings, lighting, etc. I found it hard directing the photoshoot and not being the person taking the pictures as I couldn't see what the photographer were seeing through the lens. This made it hard for me to direct the dancers for the photographs as I couldn't be certain what would be in the frame for the photographers.
Edited Images
I managed to edit a few of the pictures to a standard that we thought would work for our outcomes. I had to change the brightness and contrast on most of the images and also the exposure on some. I also played around with the colour balance on some of the images but it meant that we ended up with some images that we are going to use for the posters and programme. The photos still were not high quality however, but this was due to us not being able to get crisp images in the studio because of the use of the projector. We also had to adapt the outcomes that we had due to the images of Jack not being framed in a way that we could edit to make them look pleasing meaning we had to make do with the pictures of just Lucy and the pictures of them both together.
