After the first meeting with Luke I didn't have much of an idea of what he wanted from the logo designs. I therefore experimented with some of what he had said and tried out a few designs to show him in order to gain a better understanding of what he was looking for.
My initial designs for the burley boot camp included illustrations of some of the equipment which he had told me he uses in his boot camp sessions. I initially experimented with different type faces. He had told me that he didn't want a type face that would appear to be too cliché for the branding of a military based bootcamp. The typeface that I went on to experiment with was Myanmar Sangam MN. The main pieces of equipment that he mentioned using were kettle bells and dumbbell weights. I therefore experimented with illustrations of these weights as an original design.
The last logo that I experimented with was the use of a fist bump as the design. This is mainly based on the idea that Luke had said he wanted it to seem quite personal and 1to1 training. I thought by using this symbol it would give that impression to clients and would portray the idea of team work.
