In order to make the visuals we sorted through the videos of the butterflies to see which ones would be most suitable for the projections. Once we had chosen the videos we decreased the speed to 60% so that the butterflies were easier to see, especially the ones that were moving quite fast. We then added the purple tinge to represent LUPUS UK. At the end of the editing the video came to about 2 minutes long. Some of the film was a bit out of focus due to the difficulty of capturing the butterflies but this added some character to the video.
The final video turned out well and I was very pleased with its overall aesthetic. I think it the speed of the film works well as it is slow enough to be able to appreciate the butterflies but not too slow that you loose the movement of them. When we pair the video with the music I think it will be exactly what we were hoping for.
