OUGD503 - Collaboration Programme

Programme

For the programme it was important to stick to the same branding we had throughout the whole of advertising campaign because this would keep consistency for the public, and provided a professional finish whilst portraying the appropriate information.
For the front page I used the image from the photoshoot of both dancers which we felt best represented the show and its message.  The second page included another photograph from the shoot, and I added a short description to explain the event and its purpose. We felt this was important to have as it would help people understand the main reason why the show was being put on, but also to allow people to refer to them in future. It also provides a base level understanding before the show takes place allowing people to feel more connected earlier into the show.
The following pages are Black and white head shots of the street dancer with a small description of their back ground and future aspiration in the industry. The same format is then provided later on the in the programme of the ballet dancers. We felt this format, of street then ballet, best allowed us to explain the point of these two completely different disciplines coming together to still provide a elegant yet funky and modern approach to dance whilst keeping in tune with the charitable focus.
The middle pages provide a running order of the show so the audience can keep up with each person as the enter the stage. I found these pages the most difficult to design due to them being so different compared with the format for the rest of the programme. It was challenge to maintain the correlation of the aesthetic of the middle pages with the rest of the programme due to this. I therefore experimented with a few different layouts until I found a design that I felt complemented the rest of the programme. These experiments can be seen below.

The final pages included some information about the Charity LupusUK, and the reason behind us using them as our charity. This was accompanied by photograph of a butterfly as it is the representative symbol of the charity. The back cover also followed this theme as it displayed the LupusUk logo.
The Programme will be A5 and printed on gloss paper. We have decided to use a saddle stitch to bind the programme, as we feel this would be the best solution for a charity budgeted event.
